La Montagna del dio Cannibale
Sergio Martino - 1978
Blue Underground Region 1 DVD

I guess one of my resolutions for 2008 should be to stop watching DVDs on my laptop lest they get stuck as this one did. Not to let anything go to waste, I did a few screen shots. While others discussed the nominations of the Hollywood Foreign Press gang, I watched this film starring former Golden Globe winner Ursula Andress, showing the world what was only hinted at fifteen years previously in Dr, No. Speaking of golden globes . . .

I actually saw this in a theater in 1978, playing under the title Slave of the Cannibal God...ungodly, for sure.

Ray: The DVD is the uncut version. The best part is the video interview with Sergio Martino revealing how deluded he is about this film.

I first watched the cut version of this horror movie in a cinema in 1978. Ursula Andress was very gorgeous and sexy and the entire plot was quite shocking. Full of thrilling jungle actions, the uncut version of this horror movie was once classified as "violent". However, it's rather mild by today's standard. A movie should be judged by its overall quality and not a couple of violent scenes. I've not watched the uncut version and hence the nude scenes you posted. I guess these secnes are necessary to make the plot more exicting?
